Yumei softly called out, "Great one."
The young man turned to look at Yumei, as if inquiring about something.
"Can I call you 'Xiao Gege' [tn: "xiao" in this case refers to small/young, "gege" typically refers to elder brother in chinese but can also be playful slang for an older male, a bit of a play on words] from now on?" Yumei asked with some lack of confidence. This was none other than the founder [tn: original was 教主] Tongtian. Even if he hadn't become the founder, he was still quite proud [tn: 骄傲的很 roughly translates to quite proud, but i couldn't find any really solid translations of it]. Would he agree to this?
At first, she called him 'Daoist friend' because she didn't know who he was. Then she called him 'Great one' because she had guessed he was Tongtian, expressing her admiration for him and using it to get closer. He had said at the time that it was just a title and didn't matter. So, was it still unimportant now?
The young man frowned. "You are not my sister, why call me a brother?"
Oh, Yumei suddenly remembered that there was no 'Gege' in Honghuang. Cultivators referred to each other as 'Daoist friend,' and for closer relationships, they simply used names. Only brothers would address each other as 'Gege.'
"Well... I like to use it to address very handsome people, not with a sibling meaning. Is that okay?" Yumei asked again, unsure if this novel term would be acceptable.
"You like it?"
Yumei nodded vigorously. "Yes, I like it. I'll call you that."
"Although I don't mind the title, it should remain unique and not shared with others," the young man said, standing with his hands behind his back, maintaining a dignified posture.
"This title is only for me to use, and I haven't used it for anyone else," Yumei reassured. The most stunning person she had ever encountered in her youth was the only 'Gege' in her heart.
"Alright."
Yumei had initially just wanted to get close to Tongtian and find herself a golden thigh. But now, she seemed to be attracted to him herself, and she was beginning to feel anxious. If she couldn't get close to him, she might never be able to stay by his side in the future. What should she do?
Since she could still be by his side for now, she should make the most of it! What else could she do? With her current appearance and cultivation, which was far from mature, she wouldn't stand a chance if she tried to force anything.
"Xiao Gege, where are we going next?" Yumei moved closer and grabbed his sleeve.
The young man pondered for a moment before replying, "Penglai."
Penglai, Fangzheng, and Yingzhou were the three islands formed from the remnants of chaos left behind when Pangu created the world. However, there were no records in later novels about these three fairy islands during the Honghuang period. It was said that they were located in the East Sea, protected by a prehistoric chaotic formation, and hidden by the will of heaven. If one didn't have the chance, even a sage wouldn't be able to pinpoint their location. Otherwise, a greedy sage might directly occupy these sanctuaries, leaving no opportunity for others.
However, could he really find Penglai? Probably not; otherwise, there would be records of it. When the Three Clears separated, he wouldn't have chosen to establish Ji Jiao on Jin'ao Island.
"Penglai, what a beautiful name. But where is it?" Yumei shouldn't know about Penglai, so she asked.
"It's a fragment of chaos, but I don't know its whereabouts."
"How do we find it, then?" Yumei inquired. If he truly didn't know anything, why was he looking for Penglai Island? How could they find it?
"East Sea."
As soon as the young man's words fell, they were already on the sea from the mountains. Yumei clung to his sleeve, with countless gusts of wind blocked outside. They could only see the massive waves below them, seemingly about to swallow the tiny figures on the sea.
However, no matter how turbulent the waves were, not a single drop of water fell on Yumei. She looked at her sleeve, then looked at the person in front of her, and tightened her grip even more.
