Hong Huang: What if I Hugged the Wrong Thigh? [chapter 10]

Before them lay a thick fog, shrouding the entire sea, with a pervasive chaotic energy that instilled fear.

"What do you feel?" The great one sensed Yumei's fear and asked, turning to her.

"I feel it's very dangerous, and I'm scared," Yumei said with a furrowed brow as she looked at the mist.

What lay beyond the fog was entirely unclear, but Yumei could sense that the closer they got to it, the deeper her fear grew. It had been gusts of wind just moments ago, but now it felt like sharp blades. Even though the great one had shielded her from them, Yumei still seemed to feel the pain.

"What do you see?" he asked.

"A thick fog, murky and impenetrable, like an abyss, very dangerous," Yumei replied, her face turning pale.

The great one turned around, merged two fingers, and touched Yumei's forehead. Suddenly, her mind cleared, and much of the murderous intent in the fog dissipated. Thinking back to the fear she had just experienced, she felt a lingering sense of dread. If she were alone, she might have met her end here.

"Don't be afraid. What you saw is the Three Isles."

What did he mean? He didn't see anything?

"Isn't Penglai an immortal island? Why does it look like a devouring abyss?" Yumei struggled to stand, clutching onto the sleeve for support.

"Those without fate cannot see it. In my eyes, all I see is the endless sea ahead. This is your chance, go!" The great one wanted to remove his sleeve to send Yumei across.

Yumei was frightened and quickly grabbed onto the sleeve. She didn't even notice that she had made physical contact with the great one. Under normal circumstances, she would have been delighted for a long while, but now she had no such thoughts.

"I... I'm scared," Yumei whimpered. She dared not venture across by herself; she didn't want this opportunity.

The great one was growing impatient. He pulled away Yumei's ice-cold hand and waved his sleeve, casting a barrier around her. Then, he pushed her into the mist.

"This is your chance; others can't help you."

Yumei tightly closed her eyes, her facial features twisted into a worried expression. She didn't even dare to scream for fear of being blown away by the wind.

After a while, Yumei felt that the howling wind by her ears was not as loud, so she slowly opened her eyes.

It turned out that the raging wind was only the barrier of Penglai Island. Those with fate could see the formation and, once inside, wouldn't feel the surrounding wind.

The scenery before Yumei had changed. Vast amounts of primordial spiritual energy gathered above the fairy island, congealing into myriad colorful celestial radiance that constantly changed. Within the auspicious light and energy, there were intermittent sounds of celestial bells and drums.

Ahead, a man in red clothes with black hair stood with his back to Yumei. She couldn't see his face, but she knew who he was. This back view was unforgettable.

"Xiao Gege, didn't you say you couldn't help me?" Yumei bounced over, her heart filled with joy. He had actually come.

The great one turned around, his lips curved into a smile, and his eyes were filled with warmth and indulgence as he looked at Yumei. "You were so frightened; how could I let you come in alone?"

No, this wasn't the great one. The decisiveness with which he had pushed her in earlier showed that he wouldn't have followed out of concern for her. Furthermore, the great one today was dressed in white, with white hair. Even if he could change his appearance with magic, he wouldn't care about his physical appearance.
